Marketplace

Made in a Skill Center.
Wanted by the world.

The MakeMyIndia Marketplace is the bridge between what our Skill Centers make and the customers who value it, built so that when a product sells, the artisan wins first.

Why It Exists

Great skill deserves a great market

India's handicraft exports are worth well over ₹30,000 crore a year, and the world's appetite for authentic, handmade, sustainable products keeps growing. Yet the artisan who makes those products rarely sees that value. Layers of intermediaries, no direct market visibility and no brand of their own mean the maker earns the least in the very chain their hands created.

The MakeMyIndia Marketplace exists to shorten that chain. Every product will carry the identity of the Skill Center and the artisans who made it: a story of place, technique and heritage that mass production can never copy. Fair pricing is not a feature of this marketplace; it is the reason it exists.

In this first phase we are building the foundation: the Skill Centers, the quality systems and the industry partnerships. The storefront follows the supply, not the other way around.

How It Works

From the centre's workshop to the customer's home

Centres produce

Skill Centers craft market-ready products, with tradition at the core and contemporary design and quality standards on top.

We curate

MakeMyIndia verifies provenance, certifies quality and packages each product with its maker's story and craft heritage.

Industry leads

Leading industry partners bring what they do best: demand forecasting, retail channels, logistics, export compliance and scale.

Value returns

Transparent pricing sends the fair share back to the artisan and the Skill Center, funding stipends, masters and the next batch of learners.

Industries Leading

We ask industry to lead, not just donate

CSR cheques alone have never saved a craft. What artisans need from Indian industry is what industry is best at: buying power, supply-chain discipline, design direction and brand reach. MakeMyIndia invites companies to adopt Skill Centers as sourcing partners: placing real orders, co-developing product lines and opening their retail and export channels to artisan-made goods.

  • Corporate gifting and retail lines sourced directly from Skill Centers
  • Co-branded collections that pair master artisans with professional designers
  • Export enablement: compliance, packaging and market access for global buyers
  • GI and provenance storytelling that turns authenticity into brand value
